How to configure your camera

  1. Connect the web camera to your computer.
  2. Make sure the computer recognized the camera. You can check what devices are there plugged in at "My Computer" page (Windows) or the "Finder" window(OSX) .
  3. Go to the meeting page.
  4. In the window, click on the camera button camera button, show the Video Sources drop down menu and select your camera in the list. If it is an embedded webcam then it will appear as "USB Video Class Video". If it is a plugged in DV Camera then it will appear as "DV Video".
  5. Your video should appear in the window with yellow-green colored border.

Note: When the window opens for the first time, it asks you if want to "Allow" or "Deny" Camera and Microphone access. You should always click "Allow".
If at any point you click "Deny" then the window will never show up again. When this occurs, you will have to reset it.

How to configure your microphone

  1. Plug in your audio device to you computer.
  2. Go to the meeting page.
  3. In the window, click the microphone button mic button and select the audio device from the Audio Sources drop down menu. If you have a mic plugged into the input on your computer or laptop then select "Built-in Input". If you want to use the embedded webcam mic then select "Built-in Microphone". If you want to use the audio from a DV camera then you need to connect it to your laptop via a cable connection (i.e. XLR to 1/8" jack or 1/8" jack to 1/8" jack) and then select "Built-in Input".
  4. Our initial settings of your microphone gain value is "0" (it is muted.) Microphone gain slider

    So click the microphone icon and recognize your microphone. If meeting24.tv recognizes your microphone device, a mic gain meter will react.microphone gain meter

Does meeting24.tv work with iSight for Mac?

Yes, however Adobe Flash does not default to your iSight camera. To change to your iSight, pick USB Video Class Video from the drop down box that says Video Sources.

How to configure sound volume

meeting24.tv sets all live streamings volume sounded as a default.

And if you want to mute certain live streaming, click the volume icon on the live streaming window.

We cannot connect to the server.

If you cannot connect to the server and get the streaming data, check your internet provider. If you connect to the internet via Plala, you need to set the Winny filter level0 (OFF).

We hear the same sound like an echo many times.

Someone at your meeting room may set his speaker wrong direction.This is due to that his microphone may catch the sound from his speaker.

To solve this problem,

  • Use the earphones in place of the speaker. Or
  • Keep his speaker as far away from his microphone as possible and turn off his microphone when he doesn't speak.
